This brunch, provided by KM culinary students, will bring KM staff and area First Responders together to celebrate the holiday season and our long history of partnership. Thank you to Albrecht's Sentry for kicking off our fundraising with a $150 donation!
When: December 19th from 10 am - 1 pm
Where: KM High School Culinary Kitchen B20 (hallway)
Culinary students will select recipes, budget their meal plan, prepare dishes, and serve brunch at stations. Mr. Loebel's KMAP students will deliver food to dispatchers. KM Perform students will create portraits to decorate the hallway and band students will be playing holiday music throughout the luncheon.

KM CONTINUES PARTNERSHIP WITH MILWAUKEE BUILDER'S ASSOCIATION PLAY HOME PARADE!!!! KM students will be building three play houses this year for The Milwaukee Builders Association parade of play homes. Mr. Bruening's architecture class designed the houses and his construction class is in the process of building them. This hands-on project pairs high school students with professional builders to form relationships and learn from their experience. This year, KM students have been working with Espire Homes and Victory Homes. The play houses be on display in early January at the builders show, where they will be auctioned off and utilized for student scholarships. We are always excited to feature students pursuing their dreams through the many pathways offered at KM. Thank you Mr. Bruening for making these valuable connections!

KM GLOBAL STUDENT BECOMES HIGHLY DECORATED EAGLE SCOUT!!!! Nick Hoffman was also chosen as the Delafield American Legion Post 196 Eagle Scout of the Year after submitting a ~14-page application. That application was then forwarded to the State of Wisconsin American Legion for further consideration, and he was then selected as the 2023 Wisconsin American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year.
WALES KINDERGARTEN FRIENDSGIVING!!! With Thanksgiving a little over a week away, the kindergarten classes were more than a little excited to start the festivities. They created their own gobbler hats (that is kindergarten for turkey) and placemats and shared a festive holiday feast!
KM EXPLORE CREATES THE KME OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT!!! During a STEM activity, students were learning about angles of incidence and reflection using the "Design Process." This was illustrated by bouncing a ball off of an object to get it into a hole. In Explore, when someone suggests a cool learning exercise, the answer is almost always "yes!" So when students suggested they design a mini golf course, it was only a matter of time before they rolled up their sleeves and got to work! It was decided that the golf course's theme would be historical landmarks, which tied neatly into their literacy program. The students worked in groups to select a landmark to research and write about. Then, they drew their designs and built the holes. Once the course was completed, Explore families were invited to come and play. There were over 150 participants and it was a fun and interesting way to tackle complex concepts!
STORYWALK AT DOUSMAN IS INSPIRING YOUNG READERS!!! Storywalk is an interactive adventure in our outdoor classroom that was created by Ms. Strenke's 5K class. The book will change about once a month to continuously introduce students to new experiences and adventures in reading. The current addition, Pumpkin Jack, tells the story of a pumpkin after Halloween. It is a wonderful science lesson that implements some great Habits of Mind. The kindergarten class also created their own Pumpkin Jack to study how he will decompose. The experiment is showing some new growth, and will produce Autumn yields.
PERFECT ACT SCORES!!!! The KMHS Campus boasted not one, but two perfect ACT scores last year. One was later in the school year and was embargoed until November 14th. Congratulations to Ethan Onsager who earned a perfect 36 on his ACT. Audra Chesny also had a perfect score, which was early enough to be announced at the end of the school year. Both were also National Merit Finalists!

KM GRADUATE RUNNING MERRILL LYNCH!!! Eric Schimpf, Merrill Wealth Management president and former U.S. Army Infantry Officer, is yet another KM alum who is doing great things! Eric Attended West Point after graduating from KMHS and served in the Army. He was hired by Merrill Lynch right after finishing his commitment and rose through the ranks to become president of the organization.
