HS^2 students at Hope Street Ministry!

During the beginning of June, 10 HS^2 students worked towards their Certified Nurses Assistant training at WCTC! The training included 120 hours total with 88 hours of classroom work and 32 hours of clinical work.

NATIONAL HISTORY DAY UPDATE!!! 6th graders Cecelia and Reagan knocked it out of the park on Monday when they presented their website on the history of Social Security. After their presentation, a reporter from The Guardian, who was in the room, stepped out and interviewed them. That doesn’t happen every day. Junior, Emma Manion, was amazing in her performance (play). She took 1st in her room (10 students) and will perform again today in the finals against 10 other rooms. After her performance,she visited the Smithsonian Museum of Native Americans to find the historical character she researched. It took awhile but she found her, Ada Deer. Team Wisconsin is meeting with Senator Baldwin at the Capitol (Johnson is unavailable), then celebrating tonight by going to the Annual Congressional Baseball Game where Republicans and Democrats face off. Results are in! Here are the design winners for this years HS^2 Chemistry water rockets! Rowan and Breleigh's "Fish of Doom" rocket not only looked great, but it reached the highest launch point ever at 78.5m.

HS^2 Students are having fun on this last day of school! A day of movies, outdoor activities, crafts, and wrapping up coursework!

Yesterday during Community Day, HS^2 students were able to help run stations for the Dousman Elementary students to participate in Potato Olympics! Stations included potato breakdancing, long jump, bowling, ice skating, and more!

Thank you to all the families that donated supplies and funds for the ice cream party! Students were able to enjoy this treat right after lunch!

Newly graduated Senior Nora L. finished a mural in the AP Environmental Science classroom. The mural shows a food chain showcasing local wildlife.

While a lot of students have started leaving for their community day assignments outside of the building, students are hard at work here at the school already! Students have started to prep summer school materials, deep clean the HS^2 rooms, complete sewing projects, and make lasagna for Lasagna Love!
