Jeremy Struss (Kettle Moraine) receives the 2026 Mike Roshar WASBO Shining Star Award
The Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials (WASBO) is proud to announce Jeremy Struss, Finance Director for the Kettle Moraine School District, as the recipient of the 2026 Mike Roshar WASBO Shining Star Award. Struss was recognized on Thursday, October 8, during WASBO's 2026 Fall Conference at The Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
The Mike Roshar WASBO Shining Star Award recognizes, celebrates, and encourages outstanding contributions to WASBO through member participation in committees, regional leadership, and program development. The award was renamed in 2017-18 to recognize the service and passion modeled by Quarles & Brady attorney Mike Roshar, who was known for building strong relationships with school district communities while providing sound legal advice.
Struss is receiving the 2026 Mike Roshar WASBO Shining Star Award for his commitment to sharing knowledge, developing innovative solutions, and supporting colleagues throughout the school business profession. His nominators highlighted his development of budget dashboards that turn complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for district leaders.
Beyond developing these tools for his own district, Struss has demonstrated a willingness to share his expertise through WASBO presentations, mentorship, and regional involvement. His collaborative approach to solving complex financial and operational challenges has helped fellow school business officials strengthen their own practices and improve financial decision-making.
This honor includes a $1,000 professional development grant and a plaque, sponsored by Quarles & Brady. The grant supports training opportunities, staff development, and attendance at relevant conferences.
WASBO encourages school districts and organizations to share this news with local media outlets.
WASBO is the association where Wisconsin's School Business and Operations Professionals Connect, Learn, & Lead! The association provides professional development for school business staff, fosters a support network, and advocates for funding that ensures outstanding educational opportunities for all children in Wisconsin.
