Exciting new additions to the Dousman Campus outdoor classroom have been completed in memory of Austin Workman, loving father of Dousman students Addison and Zoey. Austin passed away suddenly in the spring of 2025 and was an incredible supporter of our school. He is deeply missed by his family, friends, and the Dousman community.
Austin’s love of the outdoors and his commitment to Dousman will live on as students enjoy a new paver pathway and outdoor amphitheater. The projects were a collaborative vision between Austin’s wife, Rachel, and Dousman 5K teacher, Ms. Jen Strenke.
This past spring, every Dousman student and staff member designed and painted an individual paver, creating a pathway from the playground to the outdoor classroom. The pathway reflects the creativity and spirit of the entire Dousman community while providing improved accessibility to the outdoor learning space.
A special thank-you goes to Austin’s brother, Uncle Brady, for sharing his time, talents, and craftsmanship to help bring this vision to life. We are grateful for this beautiful tribute to Austin and the lasting legacy he leaves at Dousman.
