Laser Tech delivered an outstanding performance on the world stage at the FIRST Championship, finishing qualification matches with a perfect 10–0 record and earning the #2 ranking in a highly competitive division of 57 teams. In the double-elimination playoffs, the team battled through four intense matches, finishing 2–2 and falling just short of the Finals in a narrow 488–496 loss—an incredibly close and hard-fought result that marked a bittersweet end to an exceptional run.

Throughout the competition, Laser Tech stood out as one of only two undefeated teams in their division during qualifications. Their performance drew international attention, with teams from around the world visiting their pit to learn about their robot design and strategy—giving students a unique, real-world experience in collaboration, innovation, and leadership.

The playoff exit came against a familiar and respected opponent, Kraken-Pinion, a team Laser Tech had partnered with to win the Wisconsin State Championship just weeks earlier. The strong relationships built between the teams over the season added perspective to the loss and highlighted the sportsmanship that defines the program.

From competing alongside teams across the United States and countries including Jamaica, Greece, and Canada, to developing strategies with peers from around the world, this experience provided lasting memories and invaluable learning opportunities. Laser Tech’s performance at Worlds reflects not only technical excellence, but also the collaboration, resilience, and global perspective that define Kettle Moraine students.
