We hope our Magee community had a very Happy Thanksgiving! We are still thinking about the fun we had at Fine Arts Day. We ended our day in the gym with an epic performance by Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos. Former Magee music teacher, Will Krieger was one of the talented musicians!

KMSD'S MUSIC PROGRAM IS MULTI-FACETED!!! The robust music curriculum in KM goes far beyond concerts and performances. A well-balanced music education requires students to undertake major academic work including deciphering a rich content-specific vocabulary, decoding music notation with fluency, speed, and accuracy, and analysis and application of expressive intent and contextual connections. In addition to the academic and performative skills that students develop through music participation, our KM students also apply their musical talents to serve the local KM community, in alignment with the Graduate Profile. Here you see middle school orchestra students undertaking a process known as 'score study'. After analyzing a piece of music as a group, students make determinations about whether the piece is appropriate for their ensemble. Students love to choose the music they study and perform!

KM4K FAIR WILL BE HELD ON JANUARY 17TH FROM 5-7PM AT CUSHING ELEMENTARY!!!! Learn more about four-year-old kindergarten in the Kettle Moraine School District! This annual event is fun and informative for young learners and their families. Kettle Moraine’s 4K program strives to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning! Providing this programming to our community is an integral way to connect our youngest learners and families to our school district and prepare them for kindergarten. The event will feature a supervised 4K room so kids can interact and play while parents speak with educators, principals, and directors from our 4K programs. The open house format features booths from each of our elementary sites and wrap-around care partners, allowing you to find the option that is right for your family. To learn more about KM4K click the QR code, visit https://www.kmsd.edu/o/kmsd/page/about-km4k, or contact our 4K Director, Justin Nies at niesj@kmsd.edu. Also, watch for the next issue of the Communicator to learn more about learning targets in KM4K and how this experience prepares children for school, helps them develop social skills, and provides them with lots of exercise and engagement!!!
