Student To Be Awarded the 2023 Wisconsin Technical Excellence Scholarship!

Congratulations to High School of Health Sciences (HS²) senior Katie M for being honored by the State of Wisconsin Higher Education Aides Board (HEAB). Katie was selected as a 2023 Wisconsin Technical Excellence Scholarship recipient and will receive a yearly scholarship towards her education for six semesters! Technical Excellence Scholarships (TES) are awarded to Wisconsin high school seniors who have the highest demonstrated level of proficiency in technical education subjects.

Katie currently has her Fire 1 certification, Emergency Medical Technician certification, and currently works at Lake Country Fire and Rescue as a Firefighter/EMT while additionally taking courses at WCTC through their Excelerate program and HS^2. After high school, she plans to continue her education at WCTC, finishing with an associate degree in both Fire Protection and Fire Medic.
