A note from Superintendent Patricia F. Deklotz on the possibility of COVID causing a transition of one or more buildings to transition to distance learning after the holiday break:
"This is Pat Deklotz, Superintendent of the Kettle Moraine School district. As we approach the Thanksgiving break, there is a week of 'No School' for students that begins on Monday, November 23. We are very concerned with the continuing increase of positive COVID cases in Waukesha County and within our school district. Those numbers make us question our ability to reopen schools in face-to-face learning on November 30, when students are expected to return.
Out of an abundance of caution, we will be sending devices home with our elementary learners to be prepared for a possible move to distance learning, if it is warranted. If there is a move to distance learning for a school or the district, there will be further communication, including information about a planned pick-up of additional materials to meet a student's instructional needs.
Your support in mitigating the spread of COVID, especially over this week-long break, is especially important. I recognize and appreciate the personal sacrifices people are making as we approach the holidays. Please stay safe and stay healthy. Thank you."
