Due to a continuing increase of COVID infections among students and staff, we are temporarily moving the entire student population of the Kettle Moraine High School campus to distance learning beginning November 9. This move involves all KMHS, KM Global, HS^2, and KM Perform students. It extends the temporary assignment to distance learning for our HS^2 and Perform students. We would like to bring students back to the campus November 30. This will depend on the spread of COVID in our community and among our students at that time.
We are asking parents of our high school students to keep your child(ren) home and restrict their exposure to others as much as possible if they attend a high school in the KM District. We are not quarantining all students, but we are encouraging students and families to continue to mitigate the spread by limiting interactions with individuals outside of their home, social distancing when out in public, wearing masks, and washing hands. It is evident that non-school and after-school-hours spread has been our biggest challenge in keeping schools open and we are asking for your help in slowing that spread.
We ask that you continue to report student absences. It is possible your student could be positive and without symptoms. If symptoms develop, please contact us to report the illness and follow up with your physician for next steps. If your student becomes ill, please keep all siblings home and report all absences. If your student is already under a longer quarantine, they are not allowed to return to school until that quarantine is completed.
At this time, our after-school athletics and activities will continue as scheduled, based upon the health and availability of players and coaches. Once again, the ability for students to continue to engage in these after-school activities will depend on spread in each activity, the district, and the larger community.
Students are expected to engage virtually for all classes. Use these links to find expectations for each school:
