Kettle Moraine School District Operating Referendum Rejected by Voters

Residents of the Kettle Moraine School District (KMSD) rejected a five year, $5.975 million per year operating referendum on April 2, 2019.

“We want to thank the community for their engagement throughout the referendum process, and for providing us direction so we can plan for the future,” said Superintendent Pat Deklotz. “We made our best efforts to provide information to voters so they could make an informed choice at the polls. While we are disappointed in the results, we will make decisions that align with community expectations.”

School board president Gary Vose said board members will work with administration to identify what staffing, program and service reductions will be made for the 2019-20 budget. Following that process, the district will engage the community in long-term sustainability discussions.
