Sustainability Study Presented To School Board

Kettle Moraine School District Sustainability Report

After our community voted not to pass KMSD's $5.975 million operational referendum this past April, the district asked a group of 15 residents - some with children in our schools and some without - from all corners of the district to participate in a sustainability study group. Their objective was to research, discuss and report potential solutions to the district's financial challenges.

This independent group was led by external facilitators. District leaders were present during the four summer meetings, which totaled more than 12 hours, to answer questions and provide data. The group's findings were presented to the Kettle Moraine School Board at this week's meeting by five members of the group. The board will meet Sept. 3 (time is TBD) in the library at KMHS for a workshop with members of the group.

The workshop is open to the public, but only members of the board and study group may participate. This study group, its report, and the upcoming workshop are first steps in the process of finding long-term solutions to sustain the educational excellence provided by Kettle Moraine School District.
