As your student’s school counselors, we understand that this time in their life (and yours) can be both exciting and challenging. The years spent in middle school will include many changes for your student, both personally and developmentally, that have an impact on their academic achievement. Our role as school counselors is to collaborate with all stakeholders to help your student achieve success in not only their academic endeavors but also in their personal, social and career development. We work with students individually, in small groups, and in the classroom setting.

The KMMS school counseling program is aligned with the ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors for Student Success. The ASCA (American School Counseling Association) Mindsets and Behaviors are researched based standards that are organized in three domains: academic, career, and social/emotional development. The standards are aligned to the classroom lessons, small groups, and other activities provided by our department to help our students achieve their highest potential.
