Magee Birthday Treat Policy
REVISED TREAT POLICY due to COVID19 mitigation efforts: At this time, we ask that no food or non-food related items be brought to school to share with students. Your student's classroom teacher will individually recognize birthdays in the classroom. Thank you for your understanding. We hope to return to the treat policy described below when it is safe to do so. Please reach out to Sue Sterner with any questions or concerns.
Due to a change in federal legislation and KMORR 2107 - Student Wellness, along with the continuous effort to keep our students safe and healthy, our Student Handbook Policy does not allow for students to bring in any food items for birthday treats. Any food treats sent/brought in will be sent home with the student who brought it.
Student birthdays will be announced at an all-school gatherings or announcements where students will continue to receive a birthday pencil. If families do wish to send in non-food school-related items to celebrate a birthday, examples are a book for the classroom with the student’s name, pencils, erasers, or bookmarks.
There will be a few opportunities for classroom parties where food snacks may be organized by the classroom teacher. Information on classroom parties will come from classroom teachers.
Thank you for your support of our Birthday Treat Policy. If you have questions or concerns, please see Mrs. Sterner.
