Advanced Placement programming is facilitated by The College Board, a non-profit organization, committed to connecting students to college success. Students are encouraged to accept the challenge of AP courses, which provide rigorous academic curriculum as well as potential cost-savings for credit completion at the college level. The Wisconsin State Board of Regents requires students to obtain a score of 3 or better on AP exams to qualify for college credit. Students are encouraged to contact private and out-of-state colleges/universities regarding their AP credit policy.
Students are given the opportunity to register for AP examinations within their AP classes each spring. Students may register for AP examinations without enrolling in AP courses. However, achievement on AP exams is clearly higher when students have prepared by taking the appropriate AP course.
