Wanda Richardson has been teaching for more than 25 years, specifically in early childhood, preschool, kindergarten and first grade. Wanda enjoys presenting on personalized learning and holds a Master of Creative Arts and Learning. She also loves working on her hobby farm with her two children. When not at school you will find her at the Waukesha County Fair and the Wisconsin State Fair showing animals!
Lisa Welch has been teaching for more than 25 years and is truly focused on making learning fun, engaging and most of all, student driven. Lisa has her National Board Certification for Teaching, her Personalized Learning Endorsement through the Institute at CESA 1, holds a Masters in Creative Arts and Learning, and is a Personalized Learning District Lead Teacher for the School District of Kettle Moraine. In her free time, Lisa enjoys fitness and resale shopping and spending time with her pup, Oz!
Ben Fronk has been teaching in the Kettle Moraine School District for more than ten years. Ben holds a Bachelors of Science in Education from Drake University and a Master’s Degree in Education from Concordia. Ben has been a part of the KM Explore pilot work since 2010, and plays an integral role on the governance council, bridging the core design work with the leadership and vision of KM Explore’s Governance Council. Ben’s experiences with personalized learning, multiage classrooms and continuum based learning provide valuable direction to the KM Explore team. Ben, his wife Traci and their two daughters live in the Kettle Moraine community and own Bright Ideas Learning Community Before and After School Daycare.
Barb Shaver has been employed with the Kettle Moraine School District for 30 years where she has served as an elementary guidance counselor, and a teacher for every elementary grade level! Barb has also taught as an adjunct professor at Carroll College and has served in the role of building Talent Development Coordinator. Currently, Barb is the Governance Council Chair for KM Global. Barb holds a Bachelor of Science in K-8 Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Masters degree in Counseling. Barb is married and has three children that keep her quite busy. In her spare time she likes to read, spend time with her family, and do long distance running.
Laura Dahm serves as both a teacher in the 4th|5th classroom as well as the director of KM Explore. She holds a deep interest in personalized learning and the transformation of public education. Laura’s focus on multiage learning environments, project based learning and student engagement in her role at KMSD have helped shaped the vision and direction of KM Explore. Laura holds both a Bachelors of Science in Education and Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning from Carroll University and also holds Principal and Curriculum/Instruction licences. Currently, Laura is also an adjunct professor of graduate studies in the education department at Carroll University. Laura has presented at numerous statewide and nationwide conferences on technology integration and personalized learning. In her free time, Laura loves reading and traveling.
Carrie Foss comes to us with over 15 years of teaching experience both in Wisconsin and Colorado. She holds a Master’s Degree in Teaching Technology in the Classroom from Lesley University. She has spent most of her teaching time in upper elementary classrooms and has a passion for project based learning, interdisciplinary learning and community learning. She strives to make learning tangible for students by connecting with experts, using learning opportunities in the world around and putting students at the center of their learning. Mrs. Foss and her husband, Mark, live in Oconomowoc with their two children, Jaden and Addie. In her free she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and gardening.
Ginny Jacob has experience teaching in grades 1-9 over the course of her 25 year career in the KM district. Ginny’s KM career began at Dousman Elementary as a 4th and 5th grade teacher and also included working with data and assessments at the district level. Since 2014, Ginny has been teaching at the middle school, first in 8th grade math and algebra and most recently in the Create house for the past three years. Ginny has a Bachelor of Science in Education from UW Whitewater and a Masters in Computer Science from Cardinal Stritch University. Ginny enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and dog! She loves traveling, camping, water sports, dark chocolate and trying new things.
