To support our district mission, vision and charge, Magee Elementary staff has created School Goals in the area of literacy and service. Each goal is supported by an action plan that is revisited and updated with teachers. The action plans focus on the analysis of data, implementation of instructional strategies, and collaborative investigation of best instructional practices as well as sharing expertise.
District Student Achievement Goal:
Students will graduate career and college ready. (Focus on Literacy, ACT and Readiness Habits)
Magee Literacy Goals:
- From fall 2014 through to spring 2015, the percentage of students at Magee (FAY) meeting or exceeding grade level reading proficiency in 5K and 1st grade will increase by 3% or maintain above 90% proficiency as measured by PALS summary benchmark or Teacher's College Assessments.
- From fall 2014 to spring 2015, the percentage of students at Magee (FAY) meeting or exceeding grade level reading proficiency in grades 2-5 will increase by 3% as measured by MAP.
- From fall 2014 to spring 2015, the percentage of students at Magee (FAY) meeting or exceeding growth targets in reading in grades 2-5 will increase by 3% as measured by MAP.
*FAY: students enrolled for one full academic year at a school (does not include students who move in or out of the school within the school year).
*MAP: Measures of Academic Progress, standardized assessment for grades 2-5, given in Fall and Spring
Magee Elementary also has an action plan focused on citizenship and personal development, using the framework of Habits of Mind.
District Service Goal:
KM Staff will provide high quality service to both internal and external customers, focusing on increasing the amount of positive communication sent from school to home.
Magee Service Goal:
By spring 2015, survey results will increase in the target area of positive feedback sent form school to home as measured by the Parent Satisfaction Survey administered in partnership with professional development experts at StuderGroup and third party technology firm K12 Insight.
