Dick Ohm was an effective leader in our Kettle Moraine community from 1970-2003. Mr. Ohm served our district as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, co-principal, and principal. He also led Summer Academy, Community Education and other district-wide incentive programs. Mr. Ohm along with Dr. Jerome (former KM District Superintendent), developed the Lasers Wall of Fame in 2003 and he has been the chairperson of the selection committee since its inception. He has been actively involved in the community and volunteered many hours supporting a variety of student activities.  

After 33 years of employment in the Kettle Moraine district, the Dick Ohm Merit Award was created to honor his service to the community. The goal was for others to do the same for our district community: volunteer, inspire, lead, and give back.  

Mr. Ohm has said what is wonderful is that  “ALL students can earn the Dick Ohm Merit Award”. The award encourages students to find an interest and commit to helping. Volunteering is a commitment to make a difference in one's community, to meet new people, and to gain skills and have fun. Another requirement is for students to demonstrate a positive attitude in the classroom and to exhibit leadership through good behavior. 

Mr. Ohm was an asset to our Kettle Moraine community and we are grateful that he continues to inspire Kettle Moraine students to follow in his footsteps.
