    An award for a hard-working student given in honor of Ken Kassees, retired KM Director of Student Services.

    BRIAN KILSDONK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS

    Brian Kilsdonk would have been a senior in the KM Class of 1999 when tragedy struck. He was an honor student, on the tennis team, active in FBLA and a role model for younger students. This scholarship is funded by Brian’s parents, the KM Junior Laser Baseball Club, and gifts from friends.

    BRYAN GOTT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS

    Bryan Gott, KM Class of 1997, was a multi-sport athlete and spiritual role model for his many friends. He died just weeks into his freshman year at UW-Madison. Scholarships funded by Todd and Lisa Greco.

    DON HILLMER EAGLE SCOUT SCHOLARSHIP

    Don Hillmer was the Scoutmaster for the Delafield troop for years and both his sons are Eagle Scouts. This award is for an Eagle Scout.

    DON HILLMER TRACK SCHOLARSHIP

    Don Hillmer was the only Illinois State High Jump Champion in 1950. That won him a scholarship to Michigan State where he earned All-American honors by placing 6th in the NCAA and Olympic Trials in 1956. His dedication to young people was demonstrated by his work with scouting and spending his 10 retirement years as a KM girls’ assistant track coach. This award is given to a student who ran track.

    DONALD PAPKE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

    This is an award given in memory of Donald Papke, for an exceptional student pursuing a career in the trades or public service.

    DREW DWYER STAR SCHOLARSHIP

    Drew Dwyer, KM Class of 2013, was a scholarship recipient himself. His uplifting and encouraging spirit persevered no matter the obstacle. Drew loved playing the guitar, songwriting, economics and geography. This scholarship is funded by the Dwyer Family and friends.

    EDWARD WILKE TRUST SCHOLARSHIP

    Edward Wilke was a retired steelworker who owned Venture Hill Farm, a friend to area children and a lover of horses. This award is given to a high achieving student from the annual income of the Edward Wilke Trust. Friends and former neighbors of Mr. Wilke represent his interests and make the selection.

    JEFFREY M. BOWERSOCK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

    Jeff Bowersock graduated from the KM Class of 1983 at age 16, from college at 19 and from law school at 22. He was enjoying a successful career in creative financing in New York when he and his wife died in a plane crash on an African safari in 1999. This scholarship is funded by Jeff’s parents, Wallace and Kathy Bowersock.

    JOEL TENGLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

    Joel Tengler, KM Class of 1999, was a freshman at UW-Milwaukee studying architecture before his untimely passing. He had a passion for running, drumming, and faith in God. This scholarship is funded by memorial contributions for David Batey.

    MILDRED FALK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS

    In Memory of Mildred Falk, a beloved Magee Elementary teacher who retired in 1997 and died in 2004. Her commitment to her students and KM was superbly demonstrated by the gift of a portion of her estate to the Scholarship Fund, which will ensure annual scholarships for many years. Scholarships are awarded to students pursuing education.

    RICHARD D. WARNER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

    Rich Warner, KM Class of 2001, was known and loved for his zest for life and wide ranging interests. He joined the Marines after high school and was a Lance Corporal when he died in an explosion in Iraq on December 13, 2004. This scholarship is funded by Patrick and Mary Donahue.

    TONY ZALAR MEMORIAL SOCCER SCHOLARSHIP

    Tony Zalar, KM Class of 1985, was a four year varsity letter winner and was the first soccer player at KM to be named to the first team All-State as a forward. He was a selfless player, a two-time captain and beloved teammate. This scholarship is funded by Tony’s family.
