Kettle Moraine  -  A Great Place to Raise a Family - Nationally Recognized for Excellence

The Kettle Moraine School District is located west of Milwaukee in Waukesha County. In the midst of farms, lakes, and beautiful rolling hills, Kettle Moraine boasts a historic tradition and strong community interest in high quality education. Covering 90 square miles, the district includes many lakes and golf courses, the Glacial Drumlin Trail, the National Ice Age Scenic Trail, and several thousand acres of the Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. Biking, hiking, rollerblading, snowmobiling, horseback riding, boating, fishing, and cross-country skiing are among some of the area residents' favorite activities. A great place to raise a family.

KMSD proudly serves ten municipalities - the City of Delafield, Town of Delafield, Village of Dousman, Town of Eagle, Town of Genesee, Village of North Prairie, Town of Ottawa, Town of Sullivan, Village of Summit, and the Village of Wales. Our schools educate 4,000 resident students and we are a district of choice for open enrollment from neighboring communities.

Our Mission: Academic Excellence - Citizenship - Personal Development

Academic Excellence: Each student will develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to successfully prepare for life, work, and further learning.

Citizenship:  Each student will be a responsible citizen by being an informed and active member of the student’s local, national, and global community.

Personal Development:  Each student will demonstrate the attitudes, knowledge, skills, and character to do what is right, balancing individual ambitions with the rights and needs of others in order to achieve his/her highest personal potential.

    A Personalized Learning Approach

KMSD’s focus on personalized learning moves our learners’ needs and passions to the center of the teaching and learning experience. With the support of high quality educators and digital learning tools, our engaged students have voice and choice as they demonstrate mastery in different subject areas. Hundreds of educators from around the country visit Kettle Moraine each year to see learning in action.

    Innovation & Choice

Kettle Moraine has a strong history of excellence and innovation. Students are immersed in design thinking and coding starting at Kindergarten. The district has created three charter high schools, one multiage project-based elementary charter school, and a project-based, interdisciplinary multi-age middle school house. Students and families have options for learning environments based on their interests and learning styles.

    High Quality Staff

Kettle Moraine has dedicated educators and support staff who are committed to the district’s Service Excellence Commitments - Personalization, Integrity and Professionalism. Staff are encouraged to innovate as they explore the best possible ways to meet the needs of students and families. Educators are attracted to KM’s opportunities for all employees to lead, the district’s collaborative culture, and personalized professional development model.

    Athletics & Activities

KM is a proud member of one of the best athletic conferences in Wisconsin - the Classic 8. Over the years several conference and state championships have been won, and several athletes have gone on to play collegiate sports. KM has quality youth programs organized by the district’s Community Education Department, which also offers recreational programs for adults.

    Music, Dramatic & Visual Arts

As a “Best Community for Music Education” KM offers comprehensive music offerings - with keyboarding as well as band and orchestra offerings at elementary schools. From middle through high school students perform in concerts and dramatic productions on local and national stages. KM’s quality elementary and middle school art offerings make way for students to enjoy several visual art courses in high school, with a new state-of-the-art suite for visual arts.

    Outstanding Facilities

The community’s passage of a facilities and technology referendum 2014 made possible $50 million in upgrades to enhance safety and security features, technology infrastructure, learning spaces and capital maintenance projects across the district.. All buildings have controlled access to ensure safety. Learning environments are open, bright and have flexible seating to support large group instruction and small group learning.

    Supportive Families, Partners Community Members

Families and the community are engaged in the Kettle Moraine education experience and show it through their participation in educational process, volunteerism and financial support. Schools boast active parent-teacher organizations and the Kettle Moraine Education Foundation supports grants for innovative programming across the district and scholarships for graduating seniors.
